apparently, this is a very average clutch size, 3 to 5 eggs are typical
it is supposed to (and did) take 13 to 14 days for the eggs to start hatching
i should get to see that dad soon as he is meant to help out with the feeding rota. his appearance will resolve the 'thrush vs blackbird' debate (qed)
it would seem that i can enjoy the company of the chicks until about the 14th of april, as after 13 to 14 days they are ready to start messing about with flying practice
three weeks after their first tentative flaps, my babies will be all grown up
i have read that mrs lady blackbird may start to prepare for her next clutch when she's done with the kids. i don't know if she will re-use the nest or not though
